December2015

Our parking spot at Silves Algarve Camping site. Prices have gone up since last year, now a huge 8 euros!! This covers water,

electric and emptying facilities so great value. And showers too, at 50 cents!

We even get goats and sheep in the field behind..

We then moved on to Messines, where we spotted this outfit. Not sure what his top speed is but it must have taken a

while to travel down from France with his tractor.

Messines

We went to a Lidl to do some shopping; as you can see, all Lidl’s in Portugal provide motorhomers with special parking places

And these places are well used. A pity the UK shops are not so welcoming…

Alte; the waterfall is still great but the water too cold for a dip!

Near the airport at Faro beach. This was sited in 2012 but sadly is rusting away.

Faro beach

On the way out of the beach/airport road are these sky watching statues on a roundabout.

Portimao. We spent two nights here and wandered the town. However we are not sure why they have an aeroplane here..

The centre of Portimao; the true meaning of Christmas.

We passed a cake shop with some examples of their work, we loved this whale! They also sold cake tins to make your own.

More cakes

And yet more cakes!

A walk along the Portimao beach. Temperatures were in the 18 degrees but no swimmers

This tunnel went under the outcrop of rock through to the next beach..

The picture taken from the top of the outcrop which was paved with seats to enjoy the view.

Steps up to the outcrop!! At the end of the first beach.

Looking down to the second beach and the tractor which clears the rubbish. Unfortunately, the café/bar is shut for holidays..

Stop me and buy one! Makes a change from ice cream.

The gardens from the road above looking down to the beach.

View of the motorhome aire at Portimao. The yellow buildings are the marina flats.

Alvor. We saw these rock cairns along the path.

These decorations are all over Alvor, made from the plastics put into the bins.

We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!!
